The Bachar Houli Academy is a high performance football talent program for emerging players aged between 15-18 years, who are from an Islamic background. The Academy is a week long program based in Melbourne, during Grand Final week in September. The program involves skill acquisition, high performance testing, game education, leadership development and a game against participants in the Multicultural Academy.
The Academy is all about giving opportunities and providing a pathway for young Muslim men aspiring to play AFL football. The program focuses on strengthening playerís leadership abilities, build a brotherhood and provide a unique football development opportunity for young Muslim men, as well as giving the participants the opportunity to learn about their identity and Religion.
Trials days for the Academy are held in each state to select the best 25 Muslims across the nation.
The registrations for the 2016 National Bachar Houli Academy have now closed.
